About Davu: He lives in MN. He started playing drums in 1985. At times he performs on cello, violin and soprano saxophone. He calls himself a jazz musician.
He's worked with numerous improvising musicians, including Milo Fine,
Andrew Lafkas, Jaron Childs,
Charles Gillett, Anthony Cox, Wendy
Ultan, George Cartwright, Stefan Kac,
Robbie Lynn Hunsinger, David Boykin, and Nicole
Mitchell. He also plays in the instrumental rock band Take Acre.
As a musician he's performed in local and national festivals, including Heliotrope (Minneapolis, 2003-2009), The Driftless
Jazz Festival (Viroqua, WI, 2008), Twin Cities' Sur Seine Festival (2006), the Walker Art Center's "Festival Dancing In Your
Head" (2004), the No-Net Festival of improvised music (Denver, 2002), the American Composer's Forum's "Bamboo Fest" (2001),
and the Museum of Contemporary Art's "Active Music Marathon" (Chicago, 2000).
He's been a curator of concert series that featured jazz and European and American improvised music in both Chicago and Minneapolis;
those were the "Early Friday Out-Sets" at Hothouse in Chicago (1999-2000) and "Unum" at the former Gus Lucky's Gallery in Minneapolis
(2000-01).
About this website: Davu coughed up the cash for the domain name. Also, seeing as he gave up his e-mailing list some
time ago, this website is in response to folks asking how they might keep up with his performances. All other content is
symptomatic of his not knowing when to quit.
